Summer, At Last

Oakleaf hydrangea in bloomI may regret saying so next time I play ultimate or soccer at lunchtime, but it’s nice to finally have a real summer day with 90° heat and humidity that makes you sweat while just sitting in the shade. That’s what North Carolina summers are all about.

At left is an Oakleaf Hydrangea in bloom. It looks happy in the heat, but it’s probably happy because of the rain we got over the last couple of days.
