I like daylilies, and it’s partly because of the name which is descriptive and counter-descriptive at the same time. Presumably, the name is because each bloom lasts for a day before it shrivels up and falls away. However, a group of daylilies can bloom all summer because there are at least some flowers open at any given time. In the photo, you can see several blooms-in-waiting even in this small stand.
